in 2015, something magical happened. we met a couple of talented young swedes named artur brä,ndströ,m and egil kahlbom who excelled at composing and producing these lighthearted, breezy disco-hued house tracks (or house- hued disco tracks, perhaps) that both fit the aesthetic and character of lph and brought something new into the fold. the result of that first encounter was marathons, a full-length album, their debut to the world, and now, two years later, we re back for the much-anticipated follow-up. rehearsal is a little briefer than its predecessor—it s five tracks—and has a markedly different tone, one that s less about dusty, sun-bleached samples and more about tightly-engineered and delicately-crafted songs. if the first effort was marked by its carefree naiveté,, the sophomore effort is, well, something a bit more advanced or, perhaps, rehearsed. what hasn t changed, though, is these guys ability to home in on grooves and coax something trasncednetally hooky, memorable out of them. the five tracks contained here are low-key in attitude but powerful and punchy in approach. they re uniquely juicy, nourishing numbers for mellow hours and fearlessly fun ditties for party hours. lots of love went into the lot of them, and we hope all s you feel when you let them wash over you is that. love
our souls are in the hands of the translator presents his arcola debut, sɪ,,,,,ŋ,,,,,krɪ,,,,,tɪ,,,,,zə,,,,,m. a two tracker of chi-town acid that offers a mouthful of mathematics from jamal moss, the legendary producer and dj who has worked with everyone from adonis to wolf eyes.
red hot drum lead track backed by boiling point late night to early morning long haul truck driving or dancing music. shazam! vital sales points: drum track playing loudly the saws and sines have aligned! its how007 time. the release in front of your face is called the 417. it is three songs by daniel savio released on 12? vinyl strictly limited to 200 copies + an everlasting (well see how that works out) digital version of those same songs. this recording was conjured up on machinery people are known to touch and sell. mk1 menu diving desktop stuff. stuff that is ten years old, stuff that may be older. stuff that purrs, rocks, bounces and skates. machine prototypes on trade show floors will not be able to make songs like these. unless you would hand them to daniel which would lead to all sorts of inconsistencies in time. last year daniel savios race to the bottom and his plejjern från plejaderna album took swedish house music by storm. it is now with great delight that we hand you this 12?, acclaimed by well-informed djs. music centred around feelings for what is in front of our faces at the moment. how007, get in while you can.
the raw jacking sexiness of ghetto house has always played a big role in the killekill universe. so its high time to put out our first release which goes that direction. italian andrew soul is an artist we have been watching for a while already. when he sent the demo with the extremely raw and dirty tunes that you find on the a-side of this 12inch, the decision was easy: killer stuff which makes you bounce immediately we want to put this out! the b-side comes from dirtbox, who is also one half of snuff crew and therefore has been part of the killekill family for a while already. actually almost from the start. being the musical wizard he is, he can not only make house and acid music and anything else you could think of, but also class a ghetto house. maybe even more classic than andrew souls side but ranging from the percussive style of smmfd and work that to the raw energy of fukk it is definitely in no way less original. shake dat ass!
we are living in precarious times. a senile, racist old man prone to temper tantrums has his tiny hands on the controls of the most powerful military machine the world has ever known. a handful of his (no less dangerous) international business associates and personal friends possess more collective wealth than the rest of us put together. the oceans and forests of the planet are dying slow deaths by asphyxiation, force fed 300 million tons of single use plastic garbage every year, and the temperature, both literal and rhetorical, rises the world over with each passing day.
with totsu , we complete our two-part keita sano album. this one, like kubo before, is a fiery maelstrom of house and disco dance floor destruction that has a dusting of that impossible-to-place keita sano absurdity. a magnetic sprint through mpc-fueled workouts, trance-y space-outs, and loopy hypnotizers. together, kubo and totsu make up oototsu , an eight-track long-player that will be made available as special limited-edition vinyl double-pack.
late last year, we modestly celebrated the sixth anniversary of lph records by releasing a 10-inch that reconnected us with our very first ep by bringing back two of the artists who contributed to it, runaway and soft rocks. now, as a sort of companion to that, we have lph___vi , a 7-inch that gives shine to a couple other names that have been spotted on lph party flyers of old and back catalog credits, jacques renault and daniel t. both these are fun, flavorful little disco nugs united by funky bass guitar fretwork and plenty of sassy woodblock, though jacques leans towards the goofy and daffy, whereas daniels brings some synth-pop seriousness into the frame. as befits the format, both hover around four minutes in length.
deep club resident dj and head strobe controller lone dancer marks our label s 4th entry with his first solo 12- on vinyl. after finishing two quality tape albums in 2017 already for jacktone and always human tapes, -house is a tunnel- arrives packed with 4 club-ready jagged tekno bangers and one cut for the chillout room. side a - communication: the title track is a sure-fire party starter centered around a thick kickdrum and a repeating synth rhythm laced with weird percussion and synth stabs trickling through the texture. next, -po12-3- combines crisp claps, hats, and a central synth theme that calls for an intergalactic rave. -colony dwelling- kicks off the transportation side, taking our extraterrestrial dancers to a new dimension steeped in fog juice and flangers. -floor- has a chill intro until it launches into a gritty track that throws broken kickdrums and distorted synths in every direction. finally, -night rain- puts the party to rest utilizng soft pads while hinting at moments from the night before. overall, -house is a tunnel- is a fitting dance-centric conglomeration of lone dancer s unique style of jacking techno, broken beats, and spaced out tracks that has set him apart in 2017. —ryan scannura
placed under the media spotlights in 2011 thanks to their joyful and loony indie pop, concrete knives went on to sign with the legendary uk imprint bella union (beach house, fleet foxes, lift to experience, etc.). their first album be your own king was successfully released the following year, selling more than 7000 copies in france alone and sending the group of friends on the road to play more than 150 live dates all over europe. quiet for the past six years and after recording with danish producer andreas pallisgaard (trentemøller, goat, pinkunoizu), the band is set to return with a much awaited second effort on the french label vietnam (h-burns, chevalrex pharaon de winter).
the amazon club is back on voodoo gold records with a 10 track release. loaded with their signature, hazy tropical funk and disco rhythms, this follow-up from their last years debut will take you back on a trip to the sultry hideout of our worlds greatest paradise.
at long last, mr. jacob korn gets drafted into team lph! technically, hes been in our orbit since 2015, when he remixed a leo wölfel track for lph white, but it s only now that we re presenting an ep of originals by him. about time! my business is classic korn a little nerdy (intricate arrangements twisty, turny top-line melodies), a little ravey, a little goofy, a little feisty, and a lotta fun. four sure-shot firebombs that ll slip into any set, hand in glove, real nice. try em out. wield em well.
a little over six years ago, let s play house because, in earnest, with a 12-inch called indoor pool. fittingly, the track it revolved around was by runaway, the duo comprised of marcos cabral and jacques renault, and featured remixes by some tight friends of the imprint, beautiful swimmers, slow hands, and soft rocks. we thought it d be fun to celebrate our birthday for once, but not with something too obvious (e.g. a compilation) or too involved (e.g. a warehouse party blowout). what we came up with is this, a 10-inch that reflects a little of the past into the present. appropriately, it includes edits by two of the artists on that debut ep. runaway s is a dusted-off and remixed secret weapon from the act s early days while soft rock s is classic soft rocks, albeit from a more current vintage (it was recorded this year). both absolutely rock. a little twisted, a little tilted, a little tipsy, but, as always, tight and tidy. funny how, since 2009, everything has changed and nothing has changed at all for this label of ours.
killekill house trax is going strong – this time with a 4-tracker by the incredible andreas gehm. he sent us the music shortly before his death and said we could pick any of his artist names and his only condition was that the music was released on vinyl. only after his death we realized that he had obviously already taken a decision then… so we are releasing this record now as an homage to one of the most creative and funniest persons in the electronic universe of the last decade. the ep includes all his typical styles and ranges from hard jacking acid house over weirdo electro house to old school chicago- leaning piano house. a timeless record for all situations. may you rest in peace, andreas, and thanks for still rocking our floors, even when you are long gone!
(silkscreen printed sleeve, limited to 300 worldwide) genre blending and audience crossing drummer/percussionist eric thielemans is proud to present a brand new, exciting combo together with rudy trouvé (ex-deus), mauro pawlowski (ex-deus, evil superstars), roman hiele and jean-yves evrard.
from the opening bars of this debut album you instantly just know it’s going to deliver the tunes, and it doesn’t let up until the last note. the allergies’ modus operandi is taking vintage sounds and reshaping them for modern dance floors, and they go about it with style.
effortlessly fusing funk, soul, disco, hip-hop and breaks, dj moneyshot and rackabeat provide the perfect brand of feel-good, energetic ear candy that will leave a smile on your face and give you happy feet. but that’s not all..., they have teamed up with some top mc’s in hypeman sage and blurum13, as well andy cooper of long beach’s world-renowned rap group, ugly duckling.
nice price deal !!! some deeper food for thought on big & dirty. its been a while (3 years actually), since we saw new material from berlin based techno legend mijk van dijks alter ego plato. with >ashes of our dreams< mijk returns in his plato disguise and goes into a deep progressive mode. with lovely vocals from jette von roth.
making his long-awaited dispatch return, cern brings us the superb spirit house ep.
in only the second release since his 2014 album under another sky, we are instantly reminded of the kiwi’s talents, casting his own shadow with rolling vibes of the highest order.
although no longer a uk resident, the ep feels very much like a homecoming for us at dispatch, as we proudly welcome one of our most celebrated label acts in recent years.
building suspense expertly and with resounding alchemy, cern presents a collection of tracks with timeless value, further elevating his reputation as one of the scene’s finest producers.
spoiled drama reemerges exhibiting their darker side on -this is our mission-, their debut on the label embodiment of berlin s fleisch collective. the five track ep exhibits a unique range and dexterity, blurring lines between the realms of techno, ebm, acid and electro with a touch of maladjusted pop and post-punk. from the anxious beat and shimmering tones of -another death experience- to the ritualistic war drums and heavily distorted vocals of -kisses are out of fashion-, expect to feel dizzied, unnerved, yet beckoned to move. the eponymous track closes out the ep in an undeniably drexciyan fashion, low-pitched vocals emerging from watery depths in lush sweeping pads and dissonant melodies. a mission accomplished with style.
after a first year of activity with 3 beautiful single reissues, sol discos presents its first album, with the compilation message in our music, selected by waxist. focusing on modern-soul genre, the selection ranges from 1976 to 1983 and gathers a nice selection of independent and private press records, all officially licensed.
a story about a man separated from his group of travellers, lost in the amazon rainforest. he comes across a small settlement inhabited by people of a completely different mindset and way of living. they take him in and show him how to look at the world in an alternative way, which evokes an incredible revelation in him. he then goes off into the wilderness alone in search of his comrades, and everything is completely different to how he first perceived. this is extremely overwhelming and euphoric. he eventually finds himself at the top of a gigantic tree that stands tall as the sky, right at the crest of a majestic waterfall. as his journey peaks, he jumps from the tree into the water below. as he surfaces for air, things seem normal again. as is if it had never happened, but he knows something in him has changed. his companions are waiting at the bank of the river for him. he rejoins the group. as they head for basecamp, he realises there is no way that he will ever be able to express what he experienced that day. his journey is his own, and always will be.

new york electro residents meet latvia. diverse comp. ep with hot machine-funk tracks for real freaks only. alonzo, a new york resident and miami native brings the sub-bass and pocket calculator sounds. dmitry distant and starpliktuve deliver eastern european hot, traditional electro. new york s chase smith brings back a funky version of late 1990 s electro-disco. new york s kid ginseng brings a combination of mid-1980s new york/la electro to the table. this is a very diversely packed compilation ep with the loudness and depth typical of kraftjerkz.
almost a year has passed since the ghost of serena butler made its appearance on the realms of eerie - techno oddball marco shuttle’s label. now s/he and other beings gave birth to a new continuum, bene tleilax, where serena’s second ep, “from the cloud to our bodies”, has been conceived.
dub visions and found sound sculptures float over a maelstrom of skeletal techno remains, together with delicate melodies and vocal swarms from a realm where nothing is so sacred that it cannot be reengineered and transformed. this is a release which seizes alienation as impetus to generate new worlds while remaining still counter-trend to certain dark souls in modern electronic music. another biomechanical effort which sounds like the perfect nexus of fluid hopes and unparalleled roles.
it’s been 3 years since the last basic soul unit ep on lab.our and the label co-head is back to top form! loose, melodic and funky, the toronto producer stretches his legs across 4 tracks in this kaleidoscopic gem of an ep. on a1 is ‘behavoural issue’, a frenetic, crunchy and off-kilter number that will have you contorted in distortion with all arms and legs on the dancefloor. ‘rising over the east’ marches in next, a deep jacking head trip to the orient opium den with its endless arpeggiators. on the b-side, the heavy broken club banger ‘propulses’ harkens back to the glory rave days without mimicry. a basic soul unit interpretation with his undeniable footprint in the mix. ‘my heart skips’ turns the dial down several notches into deeper house terrain. the soulful ride begins as an easy cruise before deftly lurching into an odd rhythmic fractal workout that the producer has become known for. sealing an untouchable reputation in the world of broken soulful lo-fi techno, basic soul unit casts an even wider net to captivate audiences with this must-have ep.

space is the place friends! we are happy to present “space consciousness”, the first album on our little imprint composed by astro traveller adham zahran. born on a day where the sun was aligned with the eridanus supervoid, a ray of energy from deep space unraveled an ancient force inside baby adham that allowed him to share the wonders of the cosmos through some seriously funky house muzak. the 8 track joint comes to you in a binary format with a 12” continuous analog excerpt (by buying the 12“, you will get a download-code for the complete album). on top of that we asked professor chinaski, a proofed expert of the chaos theory and meteor card collector, to invert the albums intro into a slammy dancefloor banger, which the professional disc jockey won’t be able to resist. if you don’t believe us, ask your astrologist!

delakeyz is swiss producer melodiesinfonieÆs moniker when taking a journey into more housey realms. on this voyage he explores his musical roots in three percussive-driven belters that still manage to maintain the subtle melodic textures that we all love from melodiesinfonies work. manchesters own contours (rhythm section int./ banoffee pies) picks up the more gentle tone of the original in his remix of walkingfree while moony mes (uncanny valley/ lagaffe tales) interpretation of our roots is a full-fledged club heater. early support by marcel vogel, harvey sutherland, s3a, chaos in the cbd, nachtbraker
(180 gr) mark barrott steps away from the balearic sound hes become synonymous with to take a journey back to the territory he first explored with bepu ngali. the pathways of our lives is a joyous, life affirming piece of 70s afro soul with amodern twist, continuing barrotts love affair with african polyrhythms and 70s philly strings.
after only 3 short years, my second album o u r w a l l s is out. it comes clad in vinyl, polycarbonate, bits and bytes and i’m very happy and relieved to finally let go of this one. the cores of its 10/11 (cd/2lp) tracks were developed on a loop pedal at home. lyrics spun here and there. almost all of them are trying to extract levels of meaning from an everchanging knot of emotions. they take their time - ranging between t h r e e m i n u t e s f o u r t y to t h i r t e e n m i n u t e s f i f t y s e v e n - to clinically isolate, examine and name the elementary building blocks constituting the knot. o u r w a l l s is about the ups and downs of your everyday-mercilessly-hopeless love relationship, about staying mild when things get rough, fabulous metaphors, childish selfdefence mechanisms, the burning space in b e t w e e n words and o u r very personal w a l l s that have so far always kept us safe..

returning from the italian excursion of vol. 13 before the u.k. pulls up the proverbial drawbridge, neil diablo delivers another to rack & ruin winner live and direct from the northern powerhouse. showing some love for the finer half of the county, neil presents the best the north east has to offer, enlisting our friends from the north yorkshire s craig bratley and newcastle s james hadfield to do the damage on this slick split 12inch.
kht 008 is coming from no less than the man who is called * the prince of techno* by his peers. and that is for a reason: blake was part of the first wave of detroit techno artists and dis and contributed to the techno movement from the mid 80s. tracks like “when a dream becomes u” or “our love” are milestones of electronic music, his style, which he calls “poetry and rhythm” is distinctive. for killekill house trax he delivers the acid life ep which comes along with two strong, acid driven tracks, the a-side darker and more chicago-oriented with its rhythmical focus and the punchy kick, the b-side more detroit-ish with its uplifting chords. timeless!
our canadian brother is popping his lph cherry with risk the rip, a four-track journey through the bouncy, beachy, wavy house boogies the guy s become notorious for. club jams at heart that have been wrapped up in gooey layers of laid-back, ethereal pads and tied off with smatterings of punchy percussion. a soundtrack for at-home relaxation masquerading as nightclub fodder or vice versa!
berlin´s legendary techno icon, superstore, returns to neuhain with his new ultimate techno package titled - our love wich features a refreshed version of the timeless anthem placed alongside with two new cutting-edge productions, completing without doubt one of the year´s greatest releases. you have been warned.
‘bout time we do something for record store day! only missed the last six. special 10-inch (our first!) of jacques renault and house of spirits, a.k.a. tom noble, material here. call it a remix swap twofer. the a is a jacques remix of house of spirits’ “holding on,” the original of which was put out by tim sweeney on his beats in space label. the b’s noble’s remix of “words,” one of the cuts off renault’s 2015 debut full-length, zentrum.
the label say: what is soul really? the answer to that is a various as the music that claims it. we here at wph hq do not know the answer either, but we do know an exceptional piece of music when we hear it. enter fabrice lig, belgian techno legend with his roots in our little country and his ears definitely in that place called detroit.
an incredible, funked-out live show and production team with their own modern take on boogie, philly soul, and ny disco. xlr8r the possé are a new face to many people. the five piece run by andrew elston and ross ferraro is comprised of veterans from all over australia’s music scene. after a year of knuckling down in the studio and a string of sold out shows they’ve boiled down their favourite influences into an in-credible, raw, funked out live show and production team. watch out for the posse’s debut ep, our thing, featuring contributions from andrew elston (phy-sique/toni toni lee/catcall), ross ferraro & jarrol renaud (the goods), michael di francesco (touch sensitive/van she) and nz jazz keys prodigy andrew bruce.

our man though may, or may not, be heavily sliced out of something else & rearranged into dancer paradise from the shards left over.
un.t.o.’s fifth release comes from cosimo damiano who delivers a brooding four tracker that leans heavily upon synth melodies and hardcore stylings. the result is an essential experimental techno ep that works just as well at home as it does in the club.
only 200 copies! exciting new release from the one and only dont dj who opens new territories by delivering here percussive and noisey forms of primitive dance evolving in real time on the floor in the style of deleuze & guattari could describe with the ritornello principle.
